Rāmāyaṇam

श्री राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे। सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने॥

Rāmāyaṇam can be translated as the “Sojourn of Śri Rāma”.

This is a historical text (itihāsa), something that happened and is narrated by Sage Vālmīki as it happened. This is a detailed text with 24,000 ślokas. Prof. Mahadevan beautifully takes us through the key messages of Dharma and useful life lessons conveyed by Ādi Kavi Vālmīki. He covers the epic by selecting important ślokas from each Sarga.
